What this calculator does
Estimates fixed-rate financing using French amortisation: a theoretical constant payment split between interest and principal. The monthly interest rate is the nominal annual rate / 12. At 0%, principal is split over the months. It does not retrieve lender offers or ask for income or personal details.
The theoretical payment is first rounded to the nearest cent. Each month, interest is rounded to cents, with halves rounded up; the rest repays principal. The final payment is adjusted to the remaining balance. If rounding clears the balance early, the actual payment count in this model is shown. Totals are therefore summed from the schedule, rather than multiplying a rounded payment by the term.
Spain, use abroad and limitations
It is presented for users in Spain and in euros, but the mathematical formula is not country-specific. Access from abroad is available without IP restrictions. It does not apply tax rules or verify contracts in Spain or elsewhere. It does not calculate purchase costs, valuation, insurance, linked products, discounts, fees, APR or affordability; the displayed total includes principal and interest only.
Variable or mixed rates, Euribor resets, payment holidays, irregular payments and early repayment are not simulated. A loan advertised as “interest-free” may have other costs that are not calculated here. This does not determine lending approval. Check the inputs against the offer and your lender’s repayment schedule before making decisions.
Method and sources
The theoretical payment is C × i / (1 − (1 + i)⁻ⁿ), where C is principal, i is the annual nominal rate as a decimal / 12 and n is the number of months. Schedule payments and interest are calculated in cents. Amount, term and rate limits bound this tool; they do not represent typical market conditions.
