How to create a QR code for a link or Wi-Fi
- Choose the content type and enter the full link or the exact network details.
- Select Create QR code and download PNG to share as an image or SVG for design and printing.
- Scan the file with a phone and confirm it opens the intended destination or shows the expected network.
Do these QR codes expire?
A static QR code does not depend on a Serconet account and has no built-in expiry date. It stores the link or Wi-Fi details directly. If the destination disappears or you change the address, network name or password, you will need to generate and distribute a new code. You cannot edit the content of an image you have already downloaded.
PNG, SVG and reliable scanning
PNG downloads a square image at your chosen size. SVG preserves vector geometry. Codes use M error correction and a white margin of at least four modules; do not crop it. Black on white, without logos, helps limit scanning problems. Error correction does not guarantee a damaged code will scan. More data makes a denser pattern: use short, trusted links and test the final size, especially for printing.
Privacy and Wi-Fi compatibility
Links and credentials are processed in this browser and are not included in analytics. We do not save these fields in cookies or local storage. Clear data, reloading or closing the page removes the interface data, but downloaded files still contain it. Your browser or system may retain information through its own mechanisms; avoid shared computers for sensitive credentials.
Wi-Fi supports WPA/WPA2 Personal, WEP and open networks, with a hidden-network flag. Special characters are escaped automatically, without removing spaces from the network name or password. Enterprise EAP networks are not supported, and WPA3-only compatibility is not guaranteed. Joining depends on the camera, operating system and network configuration.
