How to convert WebP to JPG or PNG
Add one or more still WebP images.
Choose PNG to preserve transparency. For JPG, select a background and quality level.
Convert, compare the previews and download individual images or prepare a ZIP containing the results.
JPG or PNG?
JPG is often useful for photographs, but adds lossy compression and does not support transparency. PNG preserves transparency and does not add lossy compression to the decoded pixels; its files can be much larger. Conversion cannot recover detail already lost in the WebP image.
Dimensions and privacy
The pixel dimensions decoded by your browser are preserved, without cropping or automatic resizing. Original metadata such as EXIF is not copied. Colours may differ depending on your browser and the image profile. Previews are reduced in size; downloaded files retain their dimensions.
Images and ZIP files are created on your device. We do not send your images to the server. Remove all, reloading or closing the page clears this tool's selection.
Clear limits
Up to 20 files, 20 MB per file, 80 MB of input in total, 24 megapixels per image and 60 megapixels across your selection. Results are limited to 80 MB in total. Use smaller batches on devices with limited memory.
This tool supports still WebP images. Animated WebP files are rejected rather than silently turning an animation into a still image. Invalid files are reported without removing the others. The ZIP contains successful conversions only; errors appear beside each file.
WebP is an image format used by many websites. If your program or form does not accept it, convert the file to JPG or PNG. Renaming the extension does not convert the contents.
Should I choose JPG or PNG to keep a transparent background?
Choose PNG to preserve transparency in a still WebP. JPG cannot store transparency, so the tool replaces it with your chosen background. For photos without transparency, JPG can produce a smaller file, depending on the image and settings.
Can I convert several images and download them together?
Yes. Convert the batch, then select Prepare ZIP to collect successful results. Failed files are listed separately. If you also need a KB limit, use the image file size tool afterwards.
